Marcy 7, 2025 – Center Roughrider Athletics is proud to announce the hiring of Coach Nick Brown as the new Athletic Director. Coach Brown brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success from Aubrey High School, where he has spent the past nine years developing championship-caliber athletes and programs.
During his time at Aubrey, Coach Brown played a key role in shaping the program's offensive success, serving as Running Backs Coach, Co-Offensive Coordinator, and later taking over as the sole Offensive Coordinator. Under his leadership, Aubrey's offense produced over 16,000 total yards in just three seasons, averaging 450+ yards and 40+ points per game. His teams set over 30 individual and team records, secured 10 consecutive winning seasons, and made deep playoff runs, including multiple district titles and regional semi-final appearances.
Beyond the numbers, Coach Brown has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the field. His tenure at Aubrey saw over 30 athletes advance to the next level, including a record-breaking nine college signees this past season. His leadership reflects the core values of Center Athletics—discipline, integrity, and excellence.
Coach Brown is excited to bring his vision to Center and continue the Roughriders’ tradition of building athletes who exemplify hard work, leadership, and community pride. "I am thoroughly excited about this opportunity," said Coach Brown. "Center is the elite athletic program of Shelby County, with a phenomenal group of athletes, coaches, facilities, and community support. While this program has made great strides, I am confident that our best days are ahead of us. We will instill a program rooted in discipline and integrity, consistent with the long-standing Center Athletic motto: ‘Build Character One Play at a Time.’"
Coach Brown and his wife Amber, along with their children Camden (11), Graysen (8), Mattie (7), Teagen (5), and their bonus daughter Caroline (25), are eager to become part of the Center and Shelby County community. "I would like to express how grateful we are for this opportunity and say thank you for the warm welcome," said Brown. "We look forward to getting involved and making Center our home."
Please join us in welcoming Coach Brown and his family to Roughrider Nation. The future is bright for Center Athletics, and the work begins now!
