City of Joaquin Governing Body Notice of Meeting, April 21 Agenda

April 15, 2026 - The City Council of Joaquin will meet for a Scheduled Monthly Council Meeting on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 6pm at the Old Fire Station on Steve Hughes Drive, Joaquin, Texas.

The following items are on the agenda for appropriate action:

OPEN FORUM. Open forum is an opportunity for citizens to speak about items not listed on the agenda. In order to address the City Council, please complete the Open Forum form and submit it to the City Secretary prior to the start of the meeting. In accordance with the Texas Open Meeting Act, the City Council shall not discuss, deliberate, or make any decisions on items discussed during the Open Forum. Comments are limited to 3 minutes per person.

7. Discussion and possible action on purchasing a new split unit AC for the council meeting room in the Old Fire Station/future City Hall.

8. Discussion and possible action on granting a commercial water adjustment to Brookshire Brothers due to a leak.

9. Discussion and possible action on reviewing downtown revitalization grant plans from Kyle Stephens Engineering.

10. Discussion and possible action on adopting an ordinance for civil enforcement of cleanup and removal of derelict properties and junk vehicles.

11. Discussion and possible action on selling city properties on Preston Street and Hwy 84 by sealed bids.

12. Discussion and possible action on approving items from Economic Development Corporation meeting (4-21-26).

13. Discussion and possible action on approving items from Public Safety Economic Development Corporation meeting (4-21-26).

14. Discussion of TCEQ Reporting Requirements and Utility Compliance Updates Adjournment.

The Council reserves the right to retire into executive session concerning any of the items listed on this agenda whenever it is considered necessary and is legally justified under the Open Meetings Act.
