City of Joaquin Governing Body Notice of Meeting, June 23 Agenda

June 16, 2026 - The City Council of Joaquin will meet for a Scheduled Monthly Council Meeting on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 3pm at the Old Fire Station, 136 Steve Hughes Drive, Joaquin, TX 75954

Open Forum:

Open forum is an opportunity for citizens to speak about items not listed on the agenda. To address the City Council, please complete the Open Forum form and submit it to the City Secretary prior to the start of the meeting. In accordance with the Texas Open Meeting Act, the City Council shall not discuss, deliberate, or make any decisions on items discussed during the Open Forum. Comments are limited to 3 minutes per person.

The following items are on the agenda for appropriate action:

1. Discussion and possible action on approval of minutes from the previous regular meeting.

2. Discussion and possible action on approval of the previous month's financial report.

3. Discussion and possible action on TCEQ correspondence.

4. Discussion and possible action on deferred payments, past due payments and reconnect fees for water, sewer and gas.

5. Discussion and possible action on deciding which swing to purchase for the playground at the city park.

6. Discussion and possible action regarding the purchase of a new check printer for the office.

7. Discussion and possible action on adopting city ordinance for Well Sanitary Control Easements.

8. Discussion and possible action on filling out papers for TWDB WSIG Grant: TWDB-201, TWDB.201A and TWDB-201B.

9. Discussion and possible action on repairing fencing at lift stations.

10. Discussion and possible action on subscribing to a call out system for gas leak reporting.

11. Discussion and possible action on having volunteers to help with clean-up for citizens, due to the new ordinances for Derelict Properties.

12. Convene into Executive Session pursuant to Texas Government Code §551.074 (Personnel Matters) to discuss employee matters, including the resignation of the Utility Billing Manager.  

13. Reconvene into Open Session and take any action necessary regarding matters discussed in Executive Session, including acceptance of the resignation of the Utility Billing Manager.

Adjourn

The Council reserves the right to retire into executive session concerning any of the items listed on this agenda whenever it is considered necessary and is legally justified under the Open Meetings Act.
