City of Joaquin Governing Body Notice of Meeting, Oct. 17 Agenda

October 13, 2023 - Notice is hereby given of a Regular Meeting of Joaquin City Council to be held on October 17, 2023 in the City Council Chambers of City Hall, 124 N. Preston Street, Joaquin, Texas, beginning at 6:00 p.m. for the purpose of considering the following agenda items.

The following items are on the agenda for appropriate action:

1. Call to Order:

2. Roll Call: To establish a quorum.

3. Invocation:

4. Pledge: United States Pledge, Texas Pledge

5. OPEN FORUM. Open Forum is an opportunity for citizens to speak about items not listed on the agenda. In order to address the City Council, please complete the Open Forum form and submit it to the City Secretary Prior to the start of the meeting. In accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, the City Council shall not discuss, deliberate, or make any decisions on items discussed during the Open Forum. Comments are limited to 3 minutes per person.

9. Discuss and take possible action to award a construction contract for the renovation of the downtown elevated water storage tank under ARPA Agreement No. TX1906.

10. Discuss and take possible action on awarding bid for Surplus Items.

11. Discuss and take possible action on submitting name to the Shelby County Appraisal District Board of Directors for the 2024-2025 term.

12. Discuss and take possible action on approving the previous month’s minutes.

13. Discuss and take possible action on approving the financials.

14. Discuss and take possible action on approval of Bills for the month of October 2023.

15. Discuss and take possible action on RO Plant repairs.

16. Discuss and take possible action on 5C Utility Contract.

17. Discuss and take possible action on Community Center use and rental.

18. Discuss and take possible action on acct 472.

19. Discuss and take possible action on approving Employee Holiday Calendar for 2023-2024.

20. Executive Session:

21. Council reconvenes & possible action: Possible actions on matters discussed in executive session.

22. Council Items: Reports by the members of the City Council on matters not on the agenda will be made at this time.

The Council reserves the right to retire into executive session concerning any of the items listed on this agenda whenever it is considered necessary and is legally justified under the Open Meetings Act.
