May 20, 2026 - The city Council of Joaquin will meet for a Scheduled Monthly Council Meeting on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 6pm at the Old Fire Station, 136 Steve Hughes Drive, Joaquin, TX 75954.
The following items are on the agenda for appropriate action:

2. Roll Call: To establish a quorum
3. Invocation
4. Pledge: United States Pledge, Texas Pledge
Open Forum: Open forum is an opportunity for citizens to speak about items not listed on the agenda. In order to address the City Council, please complete the Open Forum form and submit it to the City Secretary prior to the start of the meeting. In accordance with the Texas Open Meeting Act, the City Council shall not discuss, deliberate, or make any decisions on items discussed during the Open Forum. Comments are limited to 3 minutes per person.

1. Discussion and possible action on approval of minutes from the previous regular meeting
2. Discussion and possible action on approval of the previous month's financial report
3. Discussion and possible action on opening of sealed bids received for the sale of city-owned properties located on Preston Street, review of bids, and award and sale of said properties
4. Discussion only on DOT gas certification compliance for city employees and the contract gas operator following the recent Railroad Commission audit
5. Discussion and possible action on adoption of an ordinance addressing derelict and substandard properties within the city limits of Joaquin, Texas, establishing standards, enforcement procedures, and penalties
6. Discussion and possible action on repairs and replacement of perimeter fencing at city lift stations
7. Discussion and possible action on proposed upgrades to playground equipment at the city park
8. Discussion and possible action regarding the status and purchase of office computers for city operations
9. Discussion and possible action on summer operational hours for City Hall
10. Discussion and possible action on current telephone and internet service providers and contracts for city operations
11. Discussion and possible action on review and revision of city personnel policies governing vacation leave and sick leave for city employees
12. Executive Session. The City Council will convene into closed executive session pursuant to Texas Government Code Section 551.074 (Personnel Matters) to deliberate the duties, compensation, and employee benefits of the Billing Manager
13. Reconvene into open session for discussion and possible action on matters deliberated in executive session regarding compensation and employee benefits for the Billing Manager

The Council reserves the right to retire into executive session concerning any of the items listed on this agenda whenever it is considered necessary and is legally justified under the Open Meetings Act.
