Delta Gamma Founders' Day Program

May 11, 2016 - The Delta Gamma Chapter of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International celebrated Founders's Day at their May 9 meeting in San Augustine. Dr. Annie Webb Blanton founded the Society on May 11, 1929 with 11 other educators while she was working at the Texas State Department of Education.  Dr. Blanton was president of the Texas State Teachers Association, the first woman to serve Texas as Superintendent of Public Instruction, and National Education Association Vice President for 3 years.
