The Shelbyville Dragons kept their District 23 2A varsity baseball mark unblemished by gaining a 22-2 road win over the Joaquin Rams on Tuesday. Shelbyville now stands at 13-0 in conference action, and 15-4 overall. Joaquin is at 2-11 in league play and 2-15 on the season.

The bulk of the damage was done in the top of the third inning. The Dragons exploded for a rally which saw them load the bases four times and bring home ten runs during the inning. This gave them a 17-0 lead at what proved to be the midway point of the mercy-rule shortened contest.

Dragon Zack Clark struck out eight Rams batters in four innings and gave up one free base. Joaquin’s Nick Matthews struck out three Dragons’ batters.
