Free Virtual Hiring Fair for Veterans, Their Families and the Public

Workforce Solutions Deep East Texas Hosts

October 30, 2020 - The 9th Annual Hiring Red, White and You! Virtual Job Fair is set for Thursday, November 5, 2020, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. To register, visit www.detwork.org/red-white-and-you.

Some of the hundreds of job openings include: registered nurse, licensed vocational nurse, certified medication aide, customer service specialist, crew member, food safety sanitor, machine operator/assembly, maintenance, production, RV technician, shift manager, welder, assembler, sales representative, bell ringer, retention supervisor, site manager, and HR professional.

Deep East Texas job seekers will have virtual access to meet with at least 30 employers and support organizations during the state-wide virtual hiring fair. The event is organized by Workforce Solutions Deep East Texas in partnership with the Texas Workforce Commission, Texas Veterans Commission, and Texas Medical Center.

Hiring Red, White & YOU! is free and open to the general public with priority access during the first hour, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., for current and prior military, and their spouses.

This year, the fair is being hosted on an online platform, but physical locations throughout the region will be open with access to the internet, computers and assistance for job seekers.

“The September unemployment rate for the Deep East Texas region was 9.1%. Even though over 13,000 people were unemployed that month, businesses are still contacting us daily with immediate openings for quality jobs. This is an ideal opportunity for those who are ready to get back to work or reset their careers,” said Mark Durand, executive director of Workforce Solutions Deep East Texas. “Additionally, this virtual hiring format is designed to save valuable time and enable job seekers to meet hiring recruiters online.”
