Fillies fall to Paris Junior College

Freshman Amanda CruzFebruary 7, 2016 - Despite Amanda Cruz putting 22 points on the board, Panola College lost to Paris Junior College 92-77.

After getting off on a slow start for the first three quarter the Fillies finished strong, adding 27 points in the final quarter. However, it was not enough to close the point gap.

Cruz led the pack for Panola College's offense, scoring 22 points. Out of the 27 points scored in the fourth quarter, 14 of those points were racked up by Cruz. She also contributed five rebounds, five assist and six steals.

Two other Fillies also scored in double digit scores for Panola College. Teanna Frances Henderson contributed 15 points and Genesis Rivera racked up 11 points, 6 rebounds and 2 blocks. Charlynn Perry scored nine points total going three for four from behind the arc. Also chipping in for Panola College were Kia Fisker (8 points, 5 rebounds), Destiney Johnson (6 points, 5 rebounds), R'Trevia Randolph (3 points, 2 assist), Laura Chavez (2 points) and Raemeisha Claxton (1 point).

The Fillies will be at home again Wednesday, February 10th as they look to take on #2 Trinity Valley. Tip off is set for 5:30 pm in the Arthur Johnson Gymnasium.
