Fillies Sweep Pearl River in Double-Header

September 23, 2019 - The Panola Fillies took their brooms to Mississippi this weekend beating Pearl River in three on Friday (25-14, 25-9, 25-13) and Saturday (25-12, 25-12, 25-12). 

On Friday, the Fillies were led offensively by Ashton Brown with eight kills, followed by Mikayla Ware and Mylena Testoni with seven apiece, and Nyah Walker chipped in five. Maria Idjilov dished out 27 assists. Hannah Floyd and Ware led the Fillies defensively with eight digs apiece, while Erin Perez and McKenzie Dimery added four apiece, respectively. At the net, Brown and Idjilov put up two block assists. 

Continuing the success on Saturday, the Fillies swept the Wildcats with a balanced attack led by Ware who tallied 10 kills, Walker followed with eight and Idjilov chipped in five. Idjilov dished out 27 assists, while also contributing two service aces. Floyd anchored the defense with 10 digs, Dimery followed with eight, while Ware and Perez added six apiece of their own. The Fillies were a force at the net with five players having at least one block assist. Idjilov led with three block assists, April Brown followed with two, while Ana Caroline Melo, Riley Seegers, and Brown had one apiece, respectively. 

The Fillies advance to 12-3 on the season and return to action for their first conference game at home on Tuesday, September 24th against Wharton at 7:00 PM. Please come and show your support! GO FILLIES!
