Food Handler’s Training Course

September 15, 2025 - The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service is pleased to offer a Food Handler’s Course, accredited by the Texas Department of State Health Services. This essential training, titled "Food Safety: It's In Your Hands," will be hosted by the Shelby County Extension Office on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, from 5 to 7pm. The course will take place at the Shelby County Extension office, located at 266 Nacogdoches Street, Center, Texas.

This two-hour course is strongly recommended for all food service employees to ensure the safe preparation and serving of food. It provides a fundamental overview of crucial food safety practices, including proper personal hygiene, prevention of cross-contamination, and the importance of managing time and temperature to avoid foodborne illnesses.

Registration can also be completed in person on the day of the course. The cost of attendance is $20 per person, payable by check or money order, and must be settled before the course begins. The class will be conducted in English, with Spanish handouts available upon advance request.
