Garden Club Hosts Final Meeting of 2017-2018 Year

May 17, 2018 - Center Garden Club met on May 9 at the home of Carolyn Bounds for a covered-dish luncheon on the patio.

President Carole Chance welcomed seven guests after which Carolyn Bounds gave a brief overview of the many facets of garden club. The program included Claire Spann’s sharing her winning state youth essay/speech, Shirley Owens reading an inspiring verse about hyacinths (thanks to Polly Smith’s passing the verse along), and Laura Anne Scull’s reviewing Kathi Appeit’s delightful book for youngsters entitled Miss Lady Bird’s Wildflowers: How a First Lady Changed America (thanks to Linda Anderson’s sharing her copy of the book).

Center Garden Club certainly appreciates its guests who shared their lunch time with the club that day! Anyone wishing more information about CGC may call 598-3414.
