Governor Orders Schools Remain Closed for Remainder of 2019-2020 School Year

April 17, 2020 - Texas Governor Greg Abbott issued an Executive Order today, April 17, 2020, maintaining that schools shall remain closed for the rest of the 2019-2020 school year. 

The order encourages public education teachers and staff to continue to work remotely from home, and that they may return to schools to conduct remote video instruction, as well as administrative duties.

Private schools are encouraged to adopt similar practices.

Students have now been out of school for over a month.

Starting at 12:01am on Friday, April 24, 2020, retail services that are not “essential services,” but that may be provided through pickup, delivery by mail, or delivery to the customer’s doorstep in strict compliance with the terms required by DSHS.
