May 10, 2016 - The Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department and Desoto Parish Fire District 1 responded to an early morning single-wide mobile home fire on CR 3605. Both departments responded with two engines and multiple firefighters. The fire was brought under control quickly, but it took time to extinguish hot spots due to the nature of mobile home fires. The fire was first reported by a JISD bus driver as she did her morning route.
