Joaquin Christmas Festival Was a Fun Day for All

December 8, 2020 - This years Joaquin Christmas Festival was such a fun day for all who attended. So many people worked to make the festival the success it was. Krystal Raybon was our coordinator and she did her very best to see that everything was perfect and everyone had a good time. Many hours were spent in preparation and she and her team did an outstanding job. She turned Joaquin into Whoville for a day. How fun was that!!

The treasure hunt went on practically all day. Tough clues but the prize was finally won.

The park area was filled with things children could enjoy. The food vendors as well as those selling arts, crafts, clothes, jewelry, etc. really had a good day and it was worth their time coming and setting up. There was music all day for all to enjoy. We had a gingerbread house decorating contest for adults and kids. Those gingerbread houses in the adult area were beautiful and the kids had tons of fun decorating theirs. We even had a Little Miss Cindy Who contest and those girls were adorable.

There was a car show as well as a motorcycle show. For those who came it was just outstanding and everyone enjoyed looking at those beautiful cars, trucks and tractors.

The cake walk to benefit Community Christian Services was outstanding. It was sponsored by Haslem Baptist Church. Those who cooked cakes and other items did a great job and raised money for a very worthy cause.

The raffle and auction to benefit Joaquin Christian Services under the leadership of the First Methodist Church was well attended and more money was raised for another worthy cause. It was sponsored by East Texas Chopper Guys.

The parade was one of the best. Great music from the Joaquin High School band and participation from several churches as well as fire trucks, motorcycles, cars, and horses made it such fun to watch.

All in all, it was a great day to get out and have a little fun and many thanks to all who made it possible.
