April 20, 2018 - Joaquin Elementary Students participated in the PASTA FOR PENNIES program with the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society again this year. The dates were March 19, 2018-April 6, 2018. LLS helps to find a cure for blood cancers and improve the quality of life for patients and their families. Every 3 minutes someone is diagnosed with blood cancer. Every 9 minutes someones loses that battle. Blood cancers can affect any age, from babies to the elderly.
Joaquin Elementary Students collected a total of $2,730.04.
Ms. Dee Dee Derbonne's 2nd grade was the top collecting class with a total of $1,117.14. They will be rewarded a trip to Olive Garden with salad, pasta & breadsticks for lunch.
