Joaquin Governing Body Notice of Regular Meeting Agenda February 20

February 15, 2024 - Notice is hereby given of a Regular Meeting of Joaquin City Council to be held on Tuesday February 20,2024, in the City Council Chambers of City Hall, 124 N. Preston Street, Joaquin, Texas, beginning at 6:00 p.m. for the purpose of considering the following agenda items.

The following items are on the agenda for appropriate action:

1. Call to Order:

2. Roll Call: To establish a quorum.

3. Invocation:

4. Pledge: United States Pledge, Texas Pledge

5. OPEN FORUM. Open Forum is an opportunity for citizens to speak about items not listed on the agenda. In order to address the City Council, please complete the Open Forum form and submit it to the City Secretary Prior to the start of the meeting. In accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, the City Council shall not discuss, deliberate, or make any decisions on items discussed during the Open Forum. Comments are limited to 3 minutes per person.

Election Dates:

The city will have 3 Council Member seats open for the May 4, 2024, General Election.

Early Voting: April 22 – April 30, 2024
Election Day: May 4, 2024

7. Discuss and take possible action on approving the previous month’s minutes.

8. Discuss and take possible action on approving the financials and Bills for the month of February 2024.

9. Discuss and take possible action on approving the 2022-2023 Audit completed by Goff & Herrington.

10. Discuss and take possible action on use of the Community Center.

11. Discuss and take possible action on approval of Contract between Town of Logansport and City of Joaquin.

12. Discuss and take possible action on leasing the Historical Building.

13. Discuss and take possible action on the City of Joaquin Rate Schedule.

14. Council Items: Reports by the members of the City Council on matters not on the agenda will be made at this time.

15. Adjourn.

The Council reserves the right to retire into executive session concerning any of the items listed on this agenda whenever it is considered necessary and is legally justified under the
Open Meetings Act.
