May 2, 2018 - The Joaquin ISD School Board met April 26, 2018 in regular session at 4:00 p.m. in the Joaquin Boardroom with the following members present: Chrisco Bragg, Ronnie Belrose, Tam Hearnsberger, Thomas Harvey, Brandon Neal, Bill Mason, Jr (arrived at 453 p.m.) and Jeff Cater. No board members were absent and no guests were present.
Joaquin ISD employees present were Phil Worsham, Superintendent; Joel Bumback, Director of Finance; Sherry Scruggs, Elementary Principal; Bert Coan, Assistant Elementary Principal; Donna Vero, Human Resources; Terry Gray, Jr. High Principal, Kathy Carrington, Special Education Director; and Mary Hovey, Teacher.
Chrisco Bragg, President, called the meeting to order at 4:05 p.m. The invocation was led by Chrisco Bragg, and the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States of America by Brandon Neal, and the Pledge of Allegiance to the Texas Flag was led by Ronnie Belrose.

5.1 It was moved by Tam Hearnsberger, and seconded by Brandon Neal, to approve the previous meetings minutes. Following discussion, a vote was taken on the motion. It carried unanimously.
5.2 It was moved by Tam Hearnsberger, and seconded by Jeff Cater, to approve TASB Local Policy. Update 110 in accordance with instruction sheet (attached). Following discussion, a vote was taken on the motion. It carried unanimously.
5.3 It was moved by Thomas Harvey, and seconded by Ronnie Belrose, to approve a second Texas State Bank VISA Card account 4 cards and a credit limit of $15,000 for a total credit limit of $30,000. Following discussion, a vote was taken on the motion. It carried unanimously.
5.4 It was moved by Ronnie Belrose, and seconded by Tam Hearnsberger, to approve Jay Dee Cockrell as the representative for Joaquin ISD on the Shelby County Appraisal District Board of Directors. Following discussion, a vote was taken on the motion. The vote was 6 for and 1 abstention (Jeff Cater). Motion carried.
5.5 It was moved by Thomas Harvey, and seconded by Jeff Cater, to approve 2017-2018 budget amendment for remodeling projects (attached). Following discussion, a vote was taken on the motion. It carried unanimously.
6 The board entered closed session in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code Section 551.074 at 4:52 p.m. on April 26, 2018.

7 The board entered open session in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act at 6:17 p.m. on April 26, 2018. Agenda Items for discussion, consideration, and possible action:
7.1.1 It was moved by Bill Mason, Jr., and seconded by Brandon Neal, to confirm the resignation of Jimmy Jackson and Lynn Silvey. Following discussion, a vote was taken on the motion. It earned unanimously.

1. It was moved by Tarn Hearnsberger, and seconded by Ronnie Belmse, to approve Administrator contracts for attached list of Administrators (listed below) subject to assignment by the Superintendent. Following discussion, a vote was taken on the motion. It carried unanimously.

Following discussion, a vote was taken on the motion. It carried unanimously.
7.1.3 It was moved by Brandon Neal, and seconded by Jeff Cater, to approve contracts for the attached list of Teachers and Counselors subject to assignment. Following discussion, a vote was taken on the motion. The vote was 6 for and 1 against (Thomas Harvey). Motion carried.
7.1.4 It was moved by Ronnie Belrose, and seconded by Jeff Cater, to approve contract for Chad Lawrence as a Teacher/Coach subject to assignment. Following discussion, a vote was taken on the motion. It carried unanimously.
8. Christen Bragg, Board President, asked for items to be placed on the next bond agenda.
9. Designation of date and time of next meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Joaquin ISD - May 21, 2018 at 6:00 p.m.
10. With no further business on the agenda the meeting was adjourned at 6:23 p.m.
