Joaquin Rallies to Mercy Rule Win Over Tigers

The visiting Joaquin Rams defeated the Tenaha Tigers by a 18-2 score during a District 23 2A Varsity Baseball game on Thursday. Joaquin exploded in the top of the fourth inning to stretch a then 6-2 lead into a lopsided 18-2 score. The inning saw JHS take advantage of six hits, an THS error, and six walks to score 12 runs. Ram pitcher Bennett Anglin did the rest as he struck out the Tigers 1-2-3 in the bottom of the fourth frame to help enforce the Texas UIL Mercy Rule and end the contest.

Joaquin is now 11-6 overall and stand at 4-4 in conference action. They will travel to Gary High on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 for a 6:30 p.m. district game with the Bobcats.

The Tigers are 2-8 and will host Garrison on Tuesday, April 6 at 4 p.m. Garrison is currently the only undefeated team in conference action (8-0). They are 11-4 overall.
