Joaquin VFD Chili Supper, Political Rally, Cake Auction

January 31, 2020 - The Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department will host a political rally fundraiser on Saturday, February 1st at the Joaquin ISD Cafeteria.

Beginning at 6pm, guests can enjoy a bowl of homemade chili with crackers and a drink for $5. At the same time, they will have the opportunity to meet and visit with many of the candidates on the Shelby County Precinct 3 ballot for the March Primary.

This should include, but is not limited to, candidates vying for Shelby County Sheriff, Precinct 3 County Commissioner, Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace, and Shelby County District Attorney. This will be a chance for voters to get to know the candidates before they cast their vote. Beginning at 7pm, each candidate will have the opportunity to speak to the community concerning the issues in their particular races.

After speaking, the candidates will get to auction off a cake or pie and impress the voters with their persuasive skills. We look forward to a fun and entertaining evening, and hope to see a full house!
