To the Voters of Shelbyville ISD:
April 30, 2015 - My name is Etola Jones and I am seeking reelection for school board trustee at Shelbyville ISD. I have served on the board for the last 6 years and served as the vice-president for 5 years. I have a great commitment to our students and employees. I believe that we have the best students, the best teachers and the best facilities in the State of Texas.
I have lived in the Shelbyville school district my entire life. My husband, Micky, and I as proud graduates of the Class of 1977 and we have children who graduated from Shelbyville as well as my parents, Prentice and Olga Vaughn.
I have an extensive background in the education field and bring to the board many perspectives that I feel help me with my duties as a trustee. I was employed at Shelbyville ISD for several years as a Middle School principal and, as many of you know, I truly enjoyed being with my students.
If elected, I will continue to work with the other school trustees to ensure that our school excels in every area and remains a place where people want to send their children for their education.
Please go and cast your vote. I believe wholly in exercising our rights as US citizens in the area of voting.
Early voting for this election began on April 27th and will end on Tuesday, May 5th. The election is Saturday, May 9th. The polling place is the board room at Shelbyville ISD.
