Kim's Kids Corner: Spring is in the Air!

April 7, 2020 - As the kids are out of school, who's ready for some sunshine and fun activities??!!

It's EASTER week!! Celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus! Read John 20:1-8 in your bible and get the kids to find these colors to symbolize that wonderful day!

  • Red is for the blood He gave.
  • Green is for the grass He made.
  • Yellow is for the sun so bright.
  • Orange is for the edge of night.
  • Black is for the sins we made.
  • White is for the grace He gave.
  • Purple is for His hour of sorrow.
  • Pink is for our new tomorrow.

Flowers are blooming and gardens are popping up everywhere!!

This is the perfect time to get out in the bright sunshine and have the kids plant vegetable and/or flower gardens... really anything to play in the dirt! Let them get those little hands dirty. Kids will love to plant the seeds and watch them grow into something special! Special flowers they can grow and pick to give to someone to brighten their day! Let them pick the vegetables so they can help you cook them into something yummy to eat. Nothing like growing, picking and eating a prize vegetable you have grown. They will be proud of themselves!

Who's ready for some more fun?? I know that beautiful sunshine can get extra hot sometimes and we need an indoor activity to do! I'm going to share a fun recipe for homemade play dough!

FUN HOMEMADE PLAY DOUGH

1 cup All-Purpose flour
1/2 cup hot water
1/4 cup salt
2T. vegetable oil
Food coloring

Mix together all ingredients in a bowl. Cool completely and store in a plastic bag. Now enjoy and have fun!!

Here is a fun springtime game to play.....

Give each player a small terra pot or just use a cereal bowl. Hand out equal amounts of fake flower stems to each person. Now each roll a dice and add that amount of flowers to your pot.  The first person to "plant" all their flowers WINS!!

Or just play with your play dough, pots and flowers to make beautiful arrangements!!

Enjoy your kids, be blessed and stay safe!!
