Timpson Lady Bears Ballpark on Friday, March 7, 2025 –
The Timpson Lady Bears varsity softball team improved their season record to 11-0 with a 16-3 win over the visiting Center Lady Roughriders. Center now stands at 4-10.
Center gained a 2-0 run lead in the top of the first inning when Destiny Arcibar led off with a single to centerfield and Rachel Newton followed with an infield hit. Arcibar scored on hit by Abiggal Stringer and Newton reached home on a single by Bailey Miller.
The bottom half of the first inning saw Timpson explode for a rally which saw the Lady Bears bring 14 batters to the plate. THS scored ten runs on three walks, three CHS errors, and six hits including a three-run homerun to leftfield by sophomore Taylor Stewart.
Runs by Madi Grigsby, Ceale Kruse, and Ashlyn Foster in the bottom of the third inning extended the Lady Bears lead to 13-2. Peyton Bilyeu, Grigsby and Claire Ham each singled and scored before the fourth inning was over and Timpson held a comfortable 16-2 run advantage.
Center’s Madison Crawford led off the top of the fifth inning with an infield hit towards third base. She later scored on a double by Arcibar to cut Timpson’s lead to 16-3 but this would prove to be the final score of the game due to 10-run mercy rule.
Kaylee Ham got the pitching win for the Lady Bears and she gave up 10 hits, and struck out two batters without surrendering a free base. Center’s Madison Crawford and Autumn Bennett teamed up to strike out two, walk five, and they gave up 14 hits.
The Lady Bears will travel to Martinsville on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 for a 5:30 p.m. game at Lady Pirates Ballpark.
