The Joaquin Lady Rams varsity softball team earned a District 22 2A home win over the Garrison Lady Bulldogs as they took a 14-4 run advantage and ended the game in the bottom of the sixth inning due to mercy rule.

Garrison built an early 2-0 lead as Kearsten White and Zoey Libby reached on base hits and later scored when the bases were filled by a hit batter, and two walks drove them home.

Joaquin tied the game (2-2) in the bottom of the second inning when JJ Bass reached base and Juli King cleared the bases with an inside-the-park-homer.

The Lady Rams took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the second inning when Kaylee Neal singled to rightfield and reached home on a JJ Bass double.

Aspen Pritchett singled to begin the third inning and sparked a rally which saw JHS eventually take a 9-2 lead on six hits and a throwing error. A run by Autumn Webb in the bottom of the fourth extended Joaquin's lead to 10-2.

GHS got scores from Brynn Clark and White in the top of the sixth frame. This cut the Lady Rams lead to 10-4 runs.

Joaquin was able to get four consecutive hits from Bass, King, Pritchett and Madison Baker to rally and they later scored to get the ten run lead needed to end the game on mercy rule in the bottom of the sixth frame.
