Joaquin Rams Gymnasium on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 –
In a low-scoring defensive battle, the Joaquin Lady Rams varsity basketball team took a 36-9 point win over the visiting Garrison Lady Bulldogs. Joaquin was able to gain a 6-0 advantage by the midway point of the first period and they led 10-0 at the conclusion of the first quarter. The Lady Rams had a comfortable 22-2 lead by the halftime buzzer.
Joaquin outpaced Garrison 10-5 in the third frame and led 32-7 at the end of the third stanza.
The Lady Rams were led scoring by Ka’Maria Wilson with 9 points. The win puts Joaquin’s overall record at 13-16 and their District 23 2A tally is at 5-5 with three conference games remaining. They will next travel to Timpson Bears Gymnasium on Friday, January 27, 2023 where junior varsity tips off at 4:30 p.m. and varsity play will follow.
The Lady Bulldogs fell to 0-14 overall and 0-9 in District 23 2A.
