Hemphill Hornets Gymnasium on Monday, December 28, 2020 –
The Center Lady Roughriders Varsity Basketball Team took an impressive 61-27 win on the road against the Hemphill lady Hornets on Monday. The non-district win improved Center’s record to 6-3.
Center gained the lead early and never looked back as they had gained a 21-9 by end of the first quarter and a 32-14 lead at halftime. By the conclusion of the third period CHS held a 41-17 lead.
Three CHS players ended the day in double figures, JaKayla Parks led the team with 26, May Johnson added on 15 and Alex Patton finished with 11. Others scoring for Center were: Shakadria Hubbard 4, Kiddra Harper 3 and Gracie Whisenat with 2 points.
The Lady ‘Riders JV and Varsity teams are next scheduled to play at Hallsville High School at 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2020. The Lady Roughriders will begin District 17 4A play on January 5, 2020 with a home game with the Rusk Lady Eagles.
