The Tenaha Lady Tigers varsity basketball team took a opening round win over the Cooper Lady Bulldogs by a convincing 84-23 win on Wednesday during Tenaha's 14th Annual Holiday Hoops Invitational Basketball Tournament. Tenaha jumped out to a 5-0 lead early and never trailed throughout the contest. They held a 13-2 point advantage midway through the first period, a 24-8 advantage after the first period, a 54-12 lead at halftime, and a 66-18 lead at the end of the third stanza. The Lady Tigers were led by Kayanna Cox with 24 points, other Lady Tigers, Kaedynce Cox had 14, Tiyanna Dagley 12 and Christal Sparks had 10. The Lady Bulldogs were led by Marilynn Wilkerson with 10 points. The Lady Tigers will face the winner of today’s Broaduss versus Christoval game at the Tenaha SEC tomorrow, Thursday, December 28 at 9:30 a.m.
