Letter to the Editor: Tenaha Citizen Dissatisfied with District Attorney’s Communication

(Letters to the Editor - Disclaimer - To be considered for publication, letters to the editor must include the writer's full name, address and daytime phone number. Opinions expressed in Letters to the Editor do not necessarily reflect the views of Shelby County Today)

April 1, 2024 - Shelby County Texas District Attorney Karren Price took an oath of office and intentionally refusing and neglecting to respond to me, an African American woman.

I have made every plausible attempt to speak with her from phone calls, multiple voice messages, in person at her office, emails and private messages (PM’s) on Facebook Messenger. I have also tagged the DA on each of the Facebook live videos I have published on the public Group: St. John Tenaha Cemetery: Information Page. I have secured screenshots of Karren Price, District Attorney making comments on selective citizens and residents in the Shelby County, yet violating color of law, for me.

Karren Price has also instructed local and county law enforcement, and the County Attorney, John Price to ignore me and refuse to uphold the law. As of March 27, 2024, changed her Facebook settings to restrict my access to communicate with her. DA Karren Price did not read the PM’s from September 18, 2023 or March 27, 2024.

Public servants have an obligation and responsibility to treat all citizens and tax payers fair and equitably. Why is Karren Price treating me and the Estate of Joann Bussey Bering differently with malice?
