October 29, 2015 - Ryan Florence of Shelbyville was recently admitted to the high IQ society Mensa. Mensa is the largest and oldest high IQ society in the world. It is a non-profit organization open to people who score at the 98th percentile or higher on a standardized, supervised IQ or other approved intelligence test.
Ryan attended Shelbyville school until he transferred to the Panola Early College High School in Carthage. Ryan became one of the youngest persons to ever attend Panola College, commencing his collegiate studies at the age of 13. In addition to his college studies, Ryan also completed the eighth grade in three months, and the ninth grade in 5 months. Ryan joins his father in membership, making Mensa a family affair.
