Local Author Celebrates New Children's Book Release, Book Signing Party

May 30, 2017 – The Little Fox Marketplace-Bakery & Boutiques is hosting a book signing party with Terri Lacher, local author, illustrator and columnist, celebrating her new children’s book release, The Queen of Pink. The book signing will be held Saturday, June 3 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. with story time reading at 2:00 p.m. Goodie bags will be available for the first 30 party attendees!  The Little Fox Marketplace-Bakery & Boutiques is located at 101 Shelbyville Street, on the historic downtown Center square.  Admission is free and books will be available for purchase at the event. 

“Every child should be able to grow up knowing and feeling confident of who they are and what they can achieve in their lives,” Terri said. “It is my hope that The Queen of Pink will touch the hearts of adults who read this book for their little ones, knowing that somewhere inside of them lives their own little queen or king.”

Terri Lacher, California native, is a freelance author, illustrator, columnist, mother of a blended family of six and grandmother of twelve.  Her love of storytelling was encouraged by her family, providing her an endless supply of humor and wit and her passion for writing began early in her life as she spent hours with her grandmother in the small town library where she grew up.  For the past nine years, Terri has been a columnist with The Light and Champion newspaper where her articles appear in "Cobwebs in the Attic" drawing in readers with her application of humor to everyday life, firmly believing that "laughter is good for the heart and soul."  Terri is a four time contributor to Chicken Soup for the Soul as well as to the Becoming Women of Worth book series, with her latest story in the publication Women of Worth: Stories of Sugar and Spice, staff writer with We the People of Shelby County an online history magazine about East Texas, has presented creative writing workshops at the annual East Texas Baptist University Christian Writers’ Conference and a member of the National Society of Column Writers.  In addition, she has organized and taught creative writing to both adults and young writers with the goal of inspiring confidence and imagination in the lives of those with a desire to write.  Each Thursday morning, Terri can be found at the Fannie Brown Booth Memorial Library reading to preschoolers just as her grandmother before her. Terri lives in Center, Texas with her husband, Bob and their Labrador, Samson.
