October 29, 2015 - Mansfield State Historic Site and the Independent Rifles reenactment group will host a living history encampment on Saturday, November 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Various programs will be conducted throughout the day, including firing demonstrations, period military drill, as well as cooking demonstrations. Come out and see what it was like to be a soldier in late 1861. Through interaction with authentic living historians, visitors will get a taste of what it was like to live in the field and sleep on the ground beneath the stars!
