NHS Day of Service: Look What Center HS Kids Did!

December 16, 2024 - On Saturday, December 7, members of the National Honor Society volunteered around Center for a "Day of Service." One group helped serve families at the Civic Center for the Child Advocacy Center's annual "Breakfast with Santa" event. Another group helped decorate Focused Care of Center for Christmas and played BINGO with the residents. Two groups collected canned goods and monetary donations at H&S Discount Foods and Brookshire Brothers on behalf of Shelby County Outreach Ministries. They collected more than 150 cans and $223.47. A fifth group played BINGO with the residents at Pine Grove Nursing Home and a sixth group volunteered with Happy Tails Adoption Center working on their upcoming Angel Tree.

Our students worked hard this weekend, and we are proud of their efforts. The National Honor Society plans to host another "Day of Service" in the spring. If you have any suggestions of ways they can help around town, please email sydney.brookshire@centerisd.org.
