Panola College Announces 2016 Valedictorian, Salutatorian

June 14, 2016 - Panola College announces 2016 Valedictorian and Salutatorian.

James Braswell DavisValedictorian
The Panola Schools 2016 valedictorian is James Braswell Davis.

He is the son of Royce and Becky Davis and the grandson of the late James and Eudora Braswell of Gainesville, Texas, Wesley Davis and the late Betty Davis.

Davis has been involved throughout his high school career. He was a set drummer for the Panola College Jazz Band for two years. His community involvement include Green Jackets and mission trips.

He is also an active member of the First Baptist Church youth group, Chi Alpha, drummer for the youth praise band and plays the French horn in the church orchestra.

His academic honors include Associate of Science degree from Panola College, President's List, Phi Theta Kappa honor society, Chemistry Award, Outstanding Senior Award, Leadership and Performance Award (Junior year), Who's Who in American Universities and Colleges.

Davis graduated as the 2016 valedictorian for Panola Schools. He graduated with a grade average of 96.809 from Panola Early College High School. He is also a Magna Cum Laude Spring 2016 graduate of Panola College. He plans to attend the University of Texas at Tyler and major in mechanical engineering/business.

Jennifer Segura RodriquezSalutatorian
The Panola Schools 2016 salutatorian is Jennifer Segura Rodriquez.

She is the daughter of Nelly Segura and Manuel Munoz and granddaughter of Dolores Segura, Jesus and Remedios Munoz, Casimiro Segura.

In her spare time Rodriquez volunteers at the library.

She has been on the honor roll and is graduating as salutatorian with a grade average of 90.959 from Panola Early College High School. She plans to attend Panola College and the University of Dallas, where she plans to pursue a career and marketing. Her goal is to one day own her own business.
