Panola College to Host Trinity Valley Feb. 10


Jonathan Wiley of Houston pulled down 18 rebounds and scored 11 points for Panola College against Bossier Parish Community College on Wednesday, Feb. 3 in the A.J. Johnson Gymnasium.February 5, 2016 - Panola College Women’s and Men’s Basketball Teams are gearing up to face the nation’s number one junior college teams on Wednesday, Feb. 10 when Trinity Valley Community College comes to the A.J. Johnson Gym in Carthage. Tipoff for the women’s game will be 5:30 p.m. followed by the men’s matchup at 7:30 p.m.
 
“We are asking everyone to wear white to the game,” said Paul Sabbatini, Panola College Student Activities Coordinator and Student Advisor. “I will also have 100 free T-shirts as well as green rally towels to give away until they are all gone.”
 
At halftime, fans will be invited to participate in on-court games, with prizes donated by Little Caesars Pizza.
 
Trinity Valley Community College men’s team has a 13-0 record in regional play, with an overall record of 23-1. Panola College and Navarro College are tied for second place in the region, both with 9-4 records in region play. Panola’s season record of 18-6 tops Navarro’s 13-10 record. Head Coach Grant McMillan is assisted on his coaching staff by Adam Blaylock and Ricardo Johnson.
 
Trinity Valley Community College’s women’s team has a 13-0 region record, and an overall record of 21-1. Panola College Fillies Basketball has a 2-11 conference record with a season record of 6-15.
