Panola College Jumped out to an Early Lead on Mountain View

March 30, 2016 - Eight runs in the first three innings allowed Panola to put the game away early.

An error during the first inning and a wild pitch, an RBI single by Austin Sojka (Huntington Beach, CA), a three-run home run by Logan Bailey (Hallsville, TX), and an RBI double by Cal Smith (Keller, TX) in the second inning fueled Panola’s offense early.
 
Jansen McCurdy (White Oak, TX) had a busy night at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits.
 
Cole Clinton (Carthage, TX) recorded his first collegiate win for Panola. He pitched two shutout innings. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered only two hits.
 
Panola quickly matched Mountain View 's strong inning with a one-run inning of its own in the third. Panola scored on a sacrifice fly by Colby Price (Nederland, TX).
 
Panola got one-run rallies in the fourth inning and the eighth. In the fourth, Panola scored on an RBI single by McCurdy, plating Landon Marshall (Huntington Beach, CA).

With the win Panola extends its regular season record to 24-9.  Panola will travel to Corisicana Texas to face off against  #19 ranked Navarro College on Thursday for a 2pm start.  Next home game for Panola will be this Saturday hosting Navarro in a double header starting at 2pm.
