Panola Fillies Fall to Jacksonville College

January 7, 2015 - The Panola Fillies fought hard in the second half after being down 38-32 in the first half but fell short overall 72-70 against Jacksonville College. After the second half started Coach Eddie Kite substituted the entire starting five for a fresh five. The Fillies started their run with R'Trevia "Archiee" Randolph's long two and Bianca Brown's 3 quick 3 pointers who was 3/3 from behind the arc.

The Fillies steadily chipped away at the lead during the second half and with less than a minute left the Fillies were tied 70-70. After Jacksonville College missed a shot, the Filles were able to get into a fast break having the advantage 2 on 1 but ended the possession with a charge. With less than twenty seconds left in the game Jacksonville's Christina Robinson drives to the goal and gets fouled while making the shot. Robinson misses the free throw, now 72-70 with 2.87 seconds left the Fillies were not able to get a shot of in time and ended up short.

Sophomores Julieh Clark and Taylor Washington both had (13) while Marianna Duran added (11). The Fillies now 9-4 overall and 2-2 in conference take action again Saturday at Carthage High School against Trinity Valley Community College at 4PM.
