Pat Franks Crawford to Speak at August TAGHS Meeting

August 18, 2015 - If Timpson ISD had a Hall of Fame, Pat Franks Crawford would be in it. Her name, like those of Herbert Eakin, Preston Billingsley, and Tommy Mack Hooper, is forever linked to Timpson schools. When she retired from teaching at the end of the 2014-2015 school year, Mrs. Crawford left a remarkable legacy of almost half a century of service to Timpson High School.

Herself a THS graduate, Mrs. Crawford is a member of the 1963 Senior Class. She attended Stephen F. Austin State University and, upon graduation with a degree in English, joined the faculty of Timpson High School in 1968 . Over the past 47 years, Mrs. Crawford has touched the lives of thousands of Timpson students, many of whom were the children, or even grandchildren, of her former students. Her Senior English class was a rite of passage for Timpson High School students.

The Timpson Area Genealogical and Heritage Society invites everyone to hear Mrs. Crawford recall her distinguished career at their monthly meeting at 2 PM on Wednesday, August 19, in the Timpson Public Library, on the corner of Austin and Bremond Streets in downtown Timpson.
