April 30, 2018 - Longbranch Energy has filed permits seeking approval for (2) Commercial Salt Water Disposal Wells just north of the City of Joaquin water supply. Anyone in the general public can protest these Wells under review for approval. Here are the steps to follow if you are wanting to protest.
In accordance with 16 TAC §3.9 (5)(E) and §3.46 (c)(5), any permit application that is timely protested cannot be approved until there has been notice and opportunity for hearing. To be timely, a protest must be received within 15 days of receipt of the application of publication, whichever is later [See 16 TAC §3.9(5)(E)(i) and §3.46(c)(5)(A)].
Applications may be protested by submitting a protest to the Commission at: Jason.lockie@rrc.texas.gov. Protest must be done via email, as a phone call is not an official form of protest.
If you are protesting the SWD'S being drilled north of downtown Joaquin, you must include the tracking numbers in the email. Tracking numbers are 48300 and 48301.
