Public Invited to Upcoming TPW Commission Public Hearing

October 27, 2017 - East Texas hunters, anglers, landowners and others with an interest in wildlife, fisheries, state parks, habitat management and conservation are encouraged to attend the upcoming Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission regional public hearing set for 2 p.m. on November 1 at the Pitser Garrison Convention Center in Lufkin.

The TPW Commission has the final say on rules, regulations and policies associated with all Texas Parks and Wildlife Department programs. The main purpose of upcoming meeting is to provide stakeholders and constituents across the region the opportunity voice their opinions concerning any issues relating to TPWD policies, goals, programs, and responsibilities. Speakers are given two minutes to address the Commission.

Lufkin businessman Carl Ray Polk was instrumental in bringing the public hearing to eastern Texas and says the meeting represents a golden opportunity for area constituents to address TPWD lawmakers on issues that are important to them.

"To my knowledge, the TPW Commission has never held a Commission meeting in East Texas," Polk said. "We are proud to host the Commission in Lufkin and appreciate their interest in hearing from folks in our neck of the woods."
