August 27, 2024 - Shelby County Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8904 is a partner with the Shelby County 4-H Heart to Hands Project—Quilts of Valor (QOV). This recognition program, which began on Memorial Day, 2018, under the leadership of Dr.Jheri-Lynn McSwain, Texas A&M, AgriLife Extension, is designed to honor our local veterans for their selfless service to our country.
The next quilt ceremony will be held at this year’s Poultry Festival on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at 2pm under the big tent. Sixteen beautiful patriotic quilts will be presented at that time by the Shelby County 4-H.
