Ralph Corry to address TAGHS

April 18, 2022 - Ralph Corry, Timpson graduate of 1966, will address Timpson Area Genealogy and Heritage Society Wednesday, April 20 at 2 PM in the Timpson Public Library annex. He will speak about people from this area which we have forgotten or not thought of in a great while.

Ralph was born to Charlie L. (born 1891) and  Lester Herndon (born 1907), and grew up in the Weaver community outside Timpson. An old school farmer who did things the old way, Charlie insured Ralph put in lots of miles behind a mule. Ralph, now retired in Lake Jackson, left this way of life behind in 1970 to spend most of his life working in labs in oilfield chemical manufacturing facilities.

The craving Ralph had as a youth each time he was in the newspaper office, to sit and read all the back issues, has been satisfied since all existing copies of the Timpson papers have been put on the Portal of Texas History. He researches extensively and also administers the alumni site, Timpson 66.

The public is invited to come reminisce with Ralph.
