The Joaquin Rams varsity district baseball game with visiting Gary High School was suspended during the third inning due to frequent lightning strikes. The Bobcats jumped out to an early 2-0 lead when Dakota Beckham, Payton Chamness and Darin Livingston all reached with base hits in the first inning. Gary added their third run of the game when Mason Smith scored on a Landon Woodfin RBI single to left field. The Rams still trailed the Bobcats 3-0 as the game had moved into the bottom half of the third inning.

Officials called things when a lightning delay only got worse due to safety. Play then moved to Gary High School on Saturday, April 10 and the Bobcats were able to extend their lead and take the win with a 5-1 final score.
