Scarber Earns 2021 State Goat Tying Championship

Scsrber finished the 2021 Region V Rodeo season as All Around Cowboy, Champion Goat Tyer, Champion Breakaway, and Reserve Champion Heeler. This qualified him to compete at the State Finals Rodeo in all these events in Gonzales, TX May 23-May 29, 2021.

Texas State Rodeo brings the top 100 kids per event to compete. Scarber finished 9th in goats in the first round, and he won the second round in Goat Tying setting his new personal record of an 8.84. This won him a buckle for the round. 

As a result of his success, this set him coming into the Short Go sitting 2nd out of the top 15. He won the Short Go round with the fastest time of the round, winning him the average and making him the new State Champion. His advancement is in combination to his partnership with his horse Daisy.

He will represent Team Texas at the National Jr. High Finals Rodeo in Des Moines, Iowa June 20-June 26 with the top kids in the nation.

Scarber just completed his 8th grade year at Center ISD where he participates in football, basketball, and FFA. Scarber also enjoys roping, rodeoing, golf, going to the lake, hunting, fishing and hanging out with his friends.

Scarber's other accomplishments include:

  • Qualified and competed in Vegas Tuffest in 2020
  • 2021 PYRA Reserve All Around Cowboy
  • 2020-2021 Region V TJHRA Student President

Scarber is an active member of the Pineywoods Youth Rodeo Association. His parents are Brady and Whitney Scarber, and he has two brothers named Tucker and Tripp.
