March 3, 2020 Lufkin – A pre-construction meeting was held Tuesday at the Lufkin District office signaling the beginning of a project that will include sealcoating various roads throughout the district. Crews will begin setting barricades on March 30 with work scheduled to begin April 20.
D.I.J. Construction, Inc., Bertram TX, will serve as contractor for the $9.5 million project that is expected to be completed in June, weather permitting. A seal coat extends the life of a roadway by sealing the pavement structure from infiltrating water.
Motorists should prepare for delays near the moving work zones. Reduce speed, stay alert and obey all signage and traffic control. Signage and traffic control will be in place at each location as work progresses. Motorists should never try to enter or cross a lane where crews are placing sealcoat until the roadway is reopened.

- US 59: SH 87 to the Rusk County line
- FM 415: SH 87 to FM 138
- FM 699: US 84 to FM 1656
- FM 699: FM 1656 to Spur 699
ANGELINA COUNTY
- SH 103: Paul Street to FM 326
- SH 7: US 69 North to the Nacogdoches County line
- SH 7: SH 103 West to US 69 North
- SH 94: FM 706 to SL 287
HOUSTON COUNTY
- US 287: From 1-mile southeast of FM 232 to the Trinity County line
- US 287: BU 287 to 2.2 miles north of FM 2663
- US 287: 2.2 miles north of FM 2663 to SL 304

- SH 19: Lovelady city limits south to the Trinity County line
