October 21, 2025 - The Shelby County Ag Mechanics Foundation hosted their 5th annual show at the 49th annual Poultry Festival on October 2-4, 2025. There were 157 projects submitted and the top 3 from each category were moved to the live auction on Saturday, the remaining projects can be a no-sale or sold in the silent auction to the highest bidder. The money raised by each project will be awarded to the school to distribute to the student(s) who built it minus materials.
The Shelby County Ag Mechanics Foundation also sells raffle tickets and does a 52 card draw every day of the Poultry Festival to raise money for scholarships and to award one individual the Top Hand Award. This is to reward the student who works the hardest, goes above and beyond, and is always around to help in whatever way he can. This year, we were proud to award Tucker Harbison the prize o f $500 cash. He showed a lot of initiative and outworked every other competitor.
Students from all 5 area schools competed in the categories of Livestock Equipment & Feeders, Tractor Implements & Shop Equipment, Yard Conveniences (Wood & Metal), Home & Interior Projects (Wood & Metal), BBQ Pits & Smokers (including BBQ Pit Trailers), Wildlife, Trailers (Single Axle & Tandem Axle), and Restoration-Repurpose.
