New Officers, Tournament Schedule, and Junior Angler Initiative on the Agenda
December 19, 2024 – The Shelby County Bass Anglers will hold their first meeting of the 2025 season on January 14, 2025, at 7pm at the James Community Center, located on FM 2608 in Center, Texas. The meeting will serve as a key gathering for club members to elect a new slate of officers and board members, vote on the upcoming tournament schedule, and discuss proposed rule changes.
One of the main topics of discussion will be a new team format designed to foster greater Junior Angler and Coach participation. This initiative aims to encourage the next generation of anglers to get involved and grow within the sport of bass fishing.
“Our focus has always been on teaching young anglers about the sport in an ethical way, and this new format will open up more opportunities for youth and their mentors to work together,” said David Koonce, a member of the Shelby County Bass Anglers.
The 2025 fishing season will officially begin in February 2025 and run through June or July, with the season-ending Championship scheduled for September or October.
The Shelby County Bass Anglers are dedicated to providing scholarships for graduating seniors from Shelby County and surrounding areas, supporting both the sport of bass fishing and education for the community’s youth.
