December 29, 2023 - Notice is hereby given that a Special meeting of the Governing body of the Shelby County Commissioners’ Court will be held on the 29th day of December, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. in the Courtroom of the Shelby County Courthouse at 200 San Augustine Street, Center, Shelby County, Texas to deliberate and consider action on the following items:
1. Approve and pay weekly expenses.
2. Public comments on Agenda item.
3. Reminder that County Road 4356 is closed due to some bridge work and will reopen January 8th.
4. Discuss the use of ARPA funds for the purchase of a pug mill for county-wide road and bridge maintenance.
5. Discuss and possibly approve the issuance of an order under section 262.0254 of the Texas Local Government Code to determine an exemption from the requirements of 262.023 of the Texas Government Code because of the necessity to preserve and protect the public health and safety of the residents of Shelby County.
6. Discuss and possibly approve the purchase of Tasers for the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department and Constables.
7. Discuss and take action on IRS Standard mileage rate for 2024.
8. Update on ARPA meeting with Grantworks.
9. Adjourn.
