August 7, 2015 - Notice is hereby given that a Regular meeting of the Governing Body of the Shelby County Commissioners’ Court will be held on Monday the 10th day of August, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. in the Courtroom of the Shelby County Courthouse at 200 San Augustine Street, Center, Shelby County, Texas to deliberate and consider action on the following items:
1. Approve the minutes of the July 13th, 2015 Regular Meeting and the July 27th, 2015 Special Meeting of the Shelby County Commissioners’ Court.
2. Approve and pay monthly expenses.
3. Approve Officers’ Reports.
4. Public Comments on Agenda items.
5. Discuss and take action to approve the E-Verify Memorandum of Understanding between Shelby County and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service for compliance with Local Government Code Chapter 179, Verification of Employee Information, effective September 1, 2015.
6. Recognize and commend Shelby County Extension Agent, Jheri-Lynn McSwain on her numerous awards received during the 2015 Texas Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences State Conference.
7. Discuss, adopt, and name the new portion of Loop 500, from Hwy 7 North to Hwy 96 North, for inclusion on the County map and the 911 Addressing System.
8. Sheriff Blackwell and a representative from Spillman to present a proposal for a computer system for the Sheriff’s Office.
9. Discuss and possibly approve the Order for Prohibiting Outdoor Burning.
10. Tax Assessor-Collector to submit calculation of effective and rollback tax rates.
11. Approve the bond for Stephen Shires.
12. Adjourn.
