Shelby County Extension Hosts Festive Holiday Jelly Making Workshop

November 13, 2025 - The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Shelby County invites the community to celebrate the season with a Holiday Jelly Making Workshop, designed to bring festive flavor and creativity to your holiday gatherings and gift-giving.

The workshop will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, from 5pm to 7:30pm at the Shelby County Extension Office, 266 Nacogdoches Street, Center, Texas. Participants will learn how to prepare beautiful, delicious holiday-themed jellies—perfect for spreading on biscuits, pairing with charcuterie boards, or gifting to friends, family, and coworkers.

“This workshop is all about capturing the warm, comforting tastes of the season,” said Feleshia Thompson, County Extension Agent for Family & Community Health. “Participants will gain hands-on experience making festive jellies that are both safe and delicious, along with creative ideas for holiday packaging.”

The cost of the workshop is $25 per person, which includes all supplies, materials, and a jar of homemade holiday jelly to take home.

RSVP is required by December 5th, as space is limited. To reserve your spot or learn more, contact the Shelby County Extension Office at (936) 598-7744 or email feleshia.thompson@ag.tamu.edu.

Kick off the holiday season with a sweet, fun, and flavorful learning experience!
