12-Week Healthy Living Program Begins January 27, 2026
January 8, 2026 - Start the new year with a commitment to better health! The Shelby County Extension Office is launching “Get Up, Get Fit,” a 12-week program designed to promote healthy living.
Program Details:
- Start Date: Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at 5:30 p.m.
- Location: Shelby County Extension Office, 266 Nacogdoches Street, Center, TX
- Cost: $20 per person (includes food demonstrations)

Led by County Extension Agent Feleshia L. Thompson, the program covers:
- Nutrition for everyday health
- Physical activity strategies
- Stress and sleep management
- Smart dining out tips
Challenge Highlights:
- Winners determined by percentage of weight lost
- Bi-weekly weigh-ins; final weigh-in the week of April 20, 2026
- Top three local winners recognized at a celebration on May 5, 2026
“This challenge is about more than prizes—it’s about helping people achieve a healthier lifestyle,” says Thompson.
